During the first quarter of 2023, the top five Film & Television apps on the Android platform in Romania displayed interesting trends in their weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance.

Disney+ experienced fluctuations in both revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue peaked at around $73.9K in early February, and despite some dips, it remained strong with figures like $69.6K and $65.1K in March. Downloads saw a general decline from 33.2K at the end of December to 11.6K by the end of March. Active users, however, showed a positive trend, growing from 233.8K to 295.8K over the quarter.

Netflix maintained a steady download rate with minor fluctuations, starting at 27.1K at the end of December and dropping to 12.3K by the end of March. Active user numbers showed a decrease from 749.1K to 645.4K throughout the quarter.

SkyShowtime: Movies & Series saw significant activity in its revenue and downloads post-launch in mid-February. The app generated $6.9K in its first week and maintained a stable revenue around $3K-$4.6K in March. Downloads were robust initially at 59.1K, but saw a decline to 15K by the end of March. Active users increased from 44.8K to 67K within the same period.

Play Tube - Block Ads on Video had varied download numbers, starting at 11.2K at the end of December, peaking at 15.8K in mid-March, and ending at 7.3K. Active user counts rose from 39.9K to 47.7K in mid-March, though there was a slight drop to 39.2K by the end of the quarter.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies also showed diverse trends. Weekly revenue consistently hovered around $14.6K to $16.8K. Downloads decreased from 11K at the end of December to 5.7K by the end of March. Active users had a slight decline from 79.6K to 67.2K during the quarter.
